I am a member of a few sites which allow you to earn money online. Despite what some people and sites say these sites will not make you rich. The way I see it these sites allow me to earn a few extra dollars that I can put towards things like eBay purchases, internet bills and my domain name and hosting. I have tried a number of sites, some have been a waste of time and others have been quite successful for me.
I have put together my Top 5 list of sites that I have used and tested for some time now so I know they work. I attempt to be as honest as possible about the sites and highlight the good and bad points about each site.

Pure Profile
Pure Profile is a site which was launched in Australia in 2002, in the UK in 2003 and globally in December 2006. There are currently 375, 321 members which have been paid AU$7,765,049 since they started.
I joined a few years ago but have not been very active, only recently I have been been giving it much more attention and can easily make AU$1-3 a day. You can get paid out once you have earned more than AU$25, it is really easy to reach this target. I have reached this target numerous times now and have been paid directly into my bank account.
What I like about this site
- Free to join
- Does not take much of your time to start earning and quickly seeing results.
- The easiest way I have been able to make some money online
- Pays directly into your bank account.
- Next button is a quick and simple way to make up to $1 a day.
- Allows you to complete a detailed profile to that advertisements and surveys are specifically matched to you.
- Great site design, fast and easy to use.
- Surveys are much shorter than the ones sent by other sites and they pay more!
- Surveys are matched very well to your profile, no "you do not qualify" disappointment's.
- Great tech support, receive quick responses from staff
What I do not like about this site- There is not much not to like about this site! I wish other earn online sites would use Pure Profile as an example
- It would be good to have the ability to receive payment to your paypal account, however I think they are in the process of doing this.
My tips to maximize earnings
- Make sure you complete all of your profile, this can take some time but once you do it earning is quick and easy. Check your profile dashboard regularly as new profile questions are added often.
- Take advantage of the next button, visit it at least once a day to click through the different advertisements and earn some money
- Try to complete surveys as soon as they are emailed to you, places can fill up quickly.

I joined this site around 18 months ago. It is a European site with branches around the world including Australia. You are sent surveys by email. These often show you advertisements that you may have seen on television and then ask you about your opinion on these ads. The surveys usually pay around AU$2.60 - 5. Because you only need $5 to cash out to your paypal account I have lost count of the amount of times I have cashed out.
What I like about this site
- You only need to have AU$5 to be able to cash out.
- Payment is made directly to a paypal account.
- Surveys are sent regularly and pay well.
What I do not like about this site
- Sometimes you answer a few questions on a survey and are then told that you do not qualify and you do not receive any payment even though you have spent 5 minutes answering questions.
- Surveys can be very long and take up to 45 minutes

Mylot allows you to view the latest discussions, blogs and news matched to your interests and personal preferences. Mylot allows you to participate in discussions about just about anything you can think of. You then get paid for your contributions to the discussions.
I joined mylot in January 2007 and have been paid once. You receive payment once you have earnt more than US$10.
What I like about this site
- It is actually enjoyable and often addictive participating in discussions.
- Ask a question about just about anything and receive responses in minutes.
- Make friends and join communities based on a particular interest and hobby
- Gets paid directly into your paypal account.
- Also earn money for posting pictures and for referrals
What I do not like about this site
- It takes a lot of time and effort to make any money unless you have heaps of referrals (I have none so far)
- The site is very slow
- Poor/Non existent technical support
Email CashEmail Cash is a site I have been a member of since May 2000, it is only available to Australians. I have not been a very active member, since I joined I have been sent cheques to the value of around AU$100
With email cash you earn points in the following ways:
- Online Shopping - Earn points for shopping online with reward partners.
- Reward Mail - You are emailed advertisements and receive 5 points for clicking on them.
- Surveys - Complete marketing surveys and get rewarded (normally around 200 points).
- Referrals - Earn 200 points for every person you reward.
- eBank - Earn interest on your points
- Free Rewards - Earn a few points by playing games like guessing games and paper, rock, scissors.
What I like about this site
- It is free to join
- Advertisements and surveys are matched to your profile and emailed to you. This means no searching for ages looking for something that suits you.
- You have the option to donate your earnings to charity.
- Earnings are updated instantly
- If you do not qualify for a survey you still earn some points (around 20)
What I do not like about this site
- The only way to really earn with this site is to shop online with their reward partners.
- Does not pay to your paypal account, you have to wait a long time for them to send you a cheque in the mail.
3ix is not a site to earn money on line, I just could not find a site worthy of my much coveted number 5 spot. 3ix is actually a company that provides cheap and reliable internet domains and hosting. I have been using them for my business website for almost a year now and they are great. I currently pay US$1/month to host my website. You can pay for this hosting with your paypal account. I use the earnings from the sites I have mentioned above to pay for this hosting.
